Lack

Sorry for the lack of posts... not sure why that is, maybe it's the nice weather after Munin's dad's visit that has just carried our lack of posting along in an inertial way.
Things go on, went out with some friends to see the Bourne Identity. Some nice actions sequences, some humourous little one liners that I related to Bond and Run Lola Run.
Enjoyable little movie.

Now I'm just waiting for MIB2, LOTR, and... hmm... Harry Potter, although that's been rather hush hush. Oh yes, Triple X! That looks like very good cheesy action.
Well, that's enough from me for now.
Cheers!

Inspirations and an Impending Phone Call

Sitting here in my pajama pants [what?!? they are really comfy!] trying to get my little arse in gear and do something productive while I wait for the impending phone call. [Would you stop staring at the pajamas, it's hot over here and they are cottony light, perfect for sitting about the house and falling asleep on the couch.] Am thinking of redesigning the site but as of yet do not have any inspirations.[hey buster, quit that] Maybe we'll use the design intended for the...[Munin slaps unwanted grubby hand away, glares at offender. 'My pajama pants! Mine! Hands off!'].... Now where was I? Oh yes inspiration...

Well as I was typing this the phone rang. [Munin does a little dance for joy] The company I interviewed with are making me an offer and hopefully I won't muck up the job. Great! Now I am all tingly nervous with anticipation. Come on phone ring, so I can accept.

Waiting Game.

The interview this morning was short and sweet, 30 minutes in all and not as grueling as the previous one. I didn't have to perform one handed cartwheels or jump through fiery loops, there was no in depth final exam like testing of knowledge which was good because I do not believe that my brain's awake yet. Now the waiting game begins, the interviewer informed me that he should be getting back to me within the next couple of days and that if all goes well I should commence work at the end of next week. [gulp] Oh well, we shall see what becomes of all of this right now I am just happy that the interviews are over with.

Well that was Grueling.

What I thought would be an hour interview turned out to be a two-hour selling myself session. Ugh! First he asked me to tell him who Munin was and then he went on to pick apart every little point on my CV, questioning me about why I am still partially in school and if this is a good thing. [gulp] 'Well sir, you never stop learning and ...' Munin grasps for nearest reason which is not at all forthcoming. At the end of the interview he asks me the question which I dread most "Why would you be good for this company and what makes you the ideal candidate for this particular position?" My response; 'I am hardworking and though I do not have many years in this field I do bring some expertise with me, though admittedly they may be minute.' What I really wanted to say was 'Well just because I am, Sir. Why don't you just hire me and find out, yes I might muck things up, yes I still have a large learning curve ahead of me, yes I do not look my age and hence people do not take me seriously at times, but please sir just give me a chance. I may yet prove to be useful.' I guess the interview went ok, round three happens tomorrow with someone else and I have been warned to read up on my stuff, as I will be tested. [mild groan of fear] Ugh, I am not good at tests; this job is turning out to be a test of will power and determination just to get my foot in the door. Hoping tomorrow goes well, dreading the fact that I might muck everything up, thinking that maybe I should just apply for pencil pushing jobs with the minimal amount of stress.

Update: well it's been pushed off until tomorrow, GAH, impish fiends these interviewers be. I am now going to go and get wax slathered on my legs and hope that it doesn't rain.

Nervousness Are Us

Have an interview for a job that I really, really would like to get this afternoon. [Well, I think I would like to work there. It seems like a good opportunity] As such I am currently a nervous wreck. My tummy has been invaded by butterflies, my hands which are usually arid are now sweaty clumsy things and I would like nothing more then the interview to be over and done with. I have never been good at interviews, I never know what to say, how to act and have never mastered the finer points of selling myself. Especially when it comes to those dreaded questions that the potential employers seem to love asking. "Why would you be good for this company and what makes you the ideal candidate for this particular position?" Umm...squeak... mumble...mumble... lose ability to speak coherently. It is usually at this point that everything goes down hill. GAH. Must remember to breathe, to remain focused and not let my nervousness get the better of me. Perhaps I shouldn't have had that second cup of coffee today. Well I better go and get meself ready. [EEEP!]

I found my link to the older article on the NYT for the house I posted about earlier. I don't know if it will be accepted or not, and of course the NYT has their sign-up thing for viewing articles...
Oh well, here, it is.

Absence

Hope everyone will excuse the laxity of posting, but Munin is very busy spending quality time with her Da.
It's very nice to do so.
Had a quite enjoyable time walking around and finally sitting ourselves down and having some Scotch.
Tasted a little of this and that.
I believe the list was:
Glenmorangie Sherry Cask
Glenlivet 18
Glengoyne 17
Glenmorangie 18
Glenfarclas 21
A fine experience with wonderful conversation, if a little hard to be understood due to the overly loud music...

I do find that to be the most annoying thing. Loud music to the point that you have to yell and set your nose about an inch from someone's ear to be heard in a vague way.
Why do they do that?! I certainly don't find it an enjoyable aspect of the experience. A little background music is nice, enjoyable, relaxing...

But with that little rant aside, three cheers for everything and continued looking forward to more such enjoyable escapades. Pip pip, pip pip, pip pip.

Sneaking In.

[Munin sneaks in to take a look and see how things are going in her absence before she has to rush of again] Wow is I ever hot and lovely outside! Now if only I could find me self a beach to lay on as the water laps at my feet! Ooh Posts!!! [loud round of applause] Bravo! Bravo! Well done! Good show jolly old chap! [claps Hugin soundly on back] Well I've got to be off again. Keep up with the good work see you later wonderful sir. [Munin sprints off into the sunshine]

Homes

Something about open spaces and wood in homes that is really beautiful.
I'm talking really high ceilings, and wood so beautiful that it makes you weep inside with it.

I saw an article on a home a while back in the NYT that dealt with a home that had a metal exterior. The exterior was allowed to rust and now appears much like wood. It's the Island House found here. Also here a several other places that while perhaps a bit uncomfortable looking outside, are inside just wonderful uses of form and materials.

I want one... two. Definitely a few.

Hello

I'm filling in for Munin, so that means I should start with a spot of posting.
Tada!

Thank you, thank you. You're all very kind.

Let me first pass on my congrats to my dear Munin for her graduation tonight, well done -superbighug-
I'm proud of her hard work and perseverence in the face of strong procrastination instincts.

Secondly... TOGA TOGA... oh, sorry, slipped way back into the silver screen. Sometimes painful, sometimes enjoyable, but definitely an experience.

Thirdly, welcome to Munin's Da. It's a pleasure to finally get to meet him, although I think it would have been more fun to do so in England. However, the grass is always greener and all that.

Finally, a word from our sponsor.

Little Piggies

This little piggy went to market. This little piggy bought nail polish. This little piggy tried to remember how to apply it and that little piggy went wee, wee, wee and hid behind a sock. After much hmming and spilling of lacquer we now have Ten Little Piggies all in all, done up in a bright glimmering pink [yes pink] for the wonderful Christine!

[Hugin just went into shock over the pink piggies]

Link blatantly stolen from Robyn, Movie Poop Shoot is now an actual site [or has been for a whike]. A big thank you to Robyn for posting the link, we have been looking for it for a while, but it was not to be found when the movie came out. Now if you'll excuse me I am going to spend the better part of this afternoon perusing the site!

This Or That
I got me a chocolate craving, yes I do! [scavenges about office for chocolate crumbs]

1. Popcorn at the movies: buttered or not? A little if you please.
2. Sometimes you feel like a nut..sometimes you don't...Mounds or Almond Joy? Almond Joy, yum!
3. Chips or pretzels? Pringles has become my new chip fix of choice especially the Cajun ones but every now and again I get me a craving for pretzels.
4. Milky Way or Snickers? Both!
5. M&M's or Reese's Pieces? Smarties all the way, oops well then I guess it will have to be Reese's Pieces.
6. McDonald's or Burger King? Though not a big fast food eater, I would have to say McDonalds, there is something about BK that makes me ill.
7. Vanilla Coke or Pepsi Twist? Haven't tried either yet.
8. Hostess Twinkies or Cupcakes? Cupcakes. Twinkies are a little scary; I mean do you really want to eat something with a 20-year shelf life. Eeep! I wonder what the cupcakes shelf live is?
9. Hershey's Kisses or Hugs? Not a big fan of Hershey's Chocolate, now if it was Belgium dark chocolate, YUMMY!
10. Original Mountain Dew or Code Red? I don't think we get Code Red this far north, or maybe I just haven't seen it in the stores yet. As such have not had a chance to taste it so I will have to go with Original Mountain Dew.

Monday Mission
a happy belated Father's day to all the dads out there!

1. What does Father's Day mean to you personally?
Not being a father or having one till I was 11, I can't say that it meant a lot to me as a child. It means a little more now as I have recentely met my dad and have grown up with my step dad, but we don't get to celebrate it together as they are both not in the country.
2. Was there a Father, or a Father Figure in your life as you grew up?
My step dad become my father figure when I was 11, he was the one I could speak to, the person who would be there when I needed someone to lean on. I only found out about my real dad when I was in my early twenties, my mother wouldn't talk about him much when I was a child.
3. a) If you are a parent, is the father of your child(ren) involved on a daily basis? Is that even important? or if you do not have children b) Would you like to become a parent? Would you be good at raising your own children?
I hope to become a parent one day, I love children and hope that to be a good mother, if a bit wacky at times.
4. With Rosie, Callista, Jodie and Camryn all raising children without Fathers, Hollywood seems to be sending a message that children do not need male role models. Do you agree? Are these "stars" sending a good message to the young adults who admire them?
I have known families with two parents and families with only a mother or father. I have known families comprised of gay and straight parents. I don't think that it's the number or sexual orientation of the parent/s that matters but the type of people that they are, if they love their children and provide an environment where a child feels secure then that is all that s needed. Having grown up partially without a father I can honestly say that I didn't miss the father figure as a child.
5. Do you think the absence of a loving, caring father in the life of a child could have any influence on their sexual preferences when the child grows up?
NO! Since when does sexual preference have to do with a lack of father/mother figure?
6. Was there ever a time when your father became "uncool." Or maybe embarrassed you?
No.
7. Are you ever too old to kiss your Dad?
No.

BONUS: When you coming home, dad?
Harry Chapin, 'Cats and the Cradle'
"I don't know when, But we'll get together then. You know we'll have a good time then"

H.F.D.

To be precise, Happy Father's Day.
I'd send a bottle of Green Chartreuse, but that's already been upped by my other sibling's prior efforts in that direction.
Hmm, there's a nice scotch bar up here to visit...

Well, however, whenever, whatever, happy dad's day, dad.

Bad Medicine

All right so I didn't clue into it for the first hour it played, but you'd figure that after an hour and a half of continuous play I would have clued into the fact that the music I was listening was indeed just one song looping over and over again.
Last night Hugin downloaded 'Bad Medicine' by Bon Jovi, [shaking head] so we listened to it with silly grins on our faces laughing all along. This afternoon, as usual, I popped onto his computer loaded up the player and pressed play, I much prefer listening to his song list, it always seems better than mine. The first song to come on was, you guessed it, 'bad medicine' so thinking nothing more than 'cool he added it to his play list,' I grinned and went about my business. Sadly that was not the case he had not added it to the playlist, it was the only song on the list, I had been bobbing away to its beat and wondering why the damn tune seemed so much like the last one. Yup, my brain's all awake and attentive. Excuse me while I go douse my head with caffeine and see if there are any other songs that I can listen to over and over again without clueing into the fact that it is the same song.

Friday Five
all in a weeks worth of clothing.

1. How often do you do laundry?
Two times a week, depends on how much clothing we accumulate, if we are washing the linens or not and when the washing machine is available.

2. What's in a typical wash load?
A typical load consists of dark clothing, jeans and towels. An atypical load generally means we are washing the whites. We have very few of those.

3. Front or top loader? Powder or liquid detergent?
We have a top loader in the flat and will use powder detergent for the regular washing and liquid for the delicates.

4. Do you use fabric softener in the rinse cycle?
No, I mean to but I can never time it right or will forget to do so. Have resorted to using fabric softener sheets in the dryer. Much simpler just pop the suckers I and voila!

5. Dryer or clothesline?
Much prefer a dryer to a clothesline the clothes feel softer and fluffier, but there are some articles of clothing that will never encounter the inside of a dryer, something about shrinking wool/cotton shirts and sweaters that make them very uncomfortable.

Started

I started writing a quick little comment in response to the one left by KD regarding Linux, and found myself writing a novel. So I decided to post it in full.

Mmm, Linux.
I keep meaning to jump MS Ship and do that great Linux thing. I've tried it before (had problems getting my DSL to work) before abandoning it.

But I am consistently tempted by Linux. I would like to try Red Hat or Mandrake again.

My reservations are the following:

a) I am a comfortable dos user, when something goes wrong, I know where I am in dos. In Linux, the structure of the Unix background messes me up. I feel lost, and that makes me uncomfortable, and I don't like that feeling. Although I know if I have to, I can learn it without problem. It's just been a long time indoctrinated in dos.

b) I like gaming, and it used to be at least that gaming in Linux was a difficult proposition. What with DirectX requirements, etc.

c) While I like the concept of rebuilding the kernel, I seem to remember that a great deal of tweaking Linux to make it work with non-Linux stuff, etc, required too much of it. Reminding me very much of a pyramid, in that if you want to change something about it, you have to rebuild it from the inside out. It just seemed a little too intensive for what I would want to do.

And yet still I am tempted. Why? Because MS is often rather dumb. And the direction they are taking with their OS and licensing is further proof of it. When they are in a situation in which they need more support from users, due to the potential consequences of the anti-trust situation, they are alienating companies and individuals with their pain in the butt licensing. That kind of thinking is just top notch idiocy. Plus the holes and problems and errors that they have with their software and the time it takes to fix is plain scary.

So it comes down to working with something that breaks occasionally but that I can usually fix or using an OS which I would prefer to use, but don't know how to use most of it (I remember looking at the vast array of stuff that came with Mandrake 6 and being totally lost as to what 70% of it did!) and when it breaks being totally flummoxed!

So far dealing with the comfort zone is working. But I know there will come a point when it won't make sense to continue in that way. I am already using Windows 2000 Pro as opposed to looking at XP, and the way things are going I doubt I will switch to whatever their next incarnation closer to looking like a MacOS...

But what it means is that at some point I will switch. I prefer open source conceptually. It is a very ideal way of working, and should be supported so that it will remain successful and so more companies will have to take it into consideration when they produce software.

Change will happen. I just wonder how my Microsoft Intellimouse will react to being used in Linux...

Another Reason

And as always Microsoft continues to provide reason after reason for why people really shouldn't use their stuff...
And why open source is so much more impressive.

"Microsoft's time to patch a remote hole where the attacker can gain complete access to your computer: two months. Open Source's time to patch a much less serious bug where the attacker can merely crash your computer: three days." - Seen on Slashdot

Tired Now

Woke up extra early, after a pitiful night's sleep. I swear the grit fairy is having a grand old time shoving grit under my naked body in the most inopportune places. Under knees, hips, round of elbow, flat of back, any spot that will ensure that I would feel with every little shift the sharp edges of the sand. [I think it might be sand or some other form of gritty substance] The driving force that actually allowed me to drag my groggy unresponsive body out of bed this morning, the need to go pick up the extra tickets for my convocation next week. Well now that, that is done, I think am going to plop in a DVD, sprawl out on the couch and let the Sandman lull me into dreamland.

A Little Game

Let's all play a little game, it's called name that date.

06/07/2002

Quick now, which is it the 6th of July or the 7th of June?
I've always detested this kind of thing.

Sure, if you write down, July 6/2002. No problems.
Of course if you actually then find out it is June 7/2002, that could be annoying.

So I have to ask, why, other than in keeping with the more verbose dating system, would you put the month followed by the day and then the year?
Doesn't it make more sense to do an ascending timescale? Day then month and then year. Seems right to me...

Does that make me a freak?
Or just an abuser of dates...

This-or-That

1. Regular or electric/battery operated toothbrush? Regular toothbrush.
2. Shower or bath? Usually in the morning I grab a shower, and occasionally I will have a long hot shower though I would much prefer to have a bath at night. What I would do for a large enough bathtub to sink into after a long arduous day.
3. Automatic dishwasher or hand-wash dishes? We currently hand-wash all our dishes though one of the flatmates does possess a dishwasher. We are still waiting for it to be installed.
4. Paying bills: online or write out checks? Both depending on who I have to pay, if it is a utility company one that I have been with for a while I will pay online, if it is something else I will write check. Though I find it much easier to pay online.
5. Laundromat or your own washer/dryer? Own washer/dryer. So much more convenient, no waiting for the machines, no findings of odd clothing items mixed in with our own, no mangled clothes and no clothes mysteriously disappearing from the dryer or washer. Except for socks, which seem to vanish no matter where you do your laundry.

[[Hugin - and that way it makes it oh so more mysterious when socks do inevitably go missing]]

6. Electric or gas stove? Gas stove. I much prefer cooking on a gas stove.
7. Subscribe to magazines/newspapers or buy at newsstand? I used to subscribe to a whole slew of magazines but have found that I do not read them as often as I used to. Now I jut pick the copies I want up at the newsstand.
8. Alarm clock...music or buzzer? Buzzer I will not wake up to music.
9. Go grocery shopping yourself, or order stuff to be delivered? We tend to do our shopping on a daily basis so it is much easier to by ourselves and select the produce that will become the meal of the evening.
10. On workdays...pack a lunch or eat out? Depends on my mood, there were days that I would pack a lunch and others when I would eat out.

Monday Mission

1.Do you have a side of the bed on which you prefer to sleep? Do you sleep on that side even when traveling or does it matter?
Surprisingly yes, I never used to but now a days I sleep better if I am on the left side of the bed between Hugin and the wall. It seems that I feel more secure in this position and those really odd dreams, and stressful thoughts don't visit as much. When I am traveling it doesn't really matter, either side of the bed will do and if I am traveling alone I will always tend to land up sleeping parallel to the headboard. I go to sleep in a normal position but wake up with my back up against the board, just very odd.

2. What is your favorite "Theme Park?" How come and when was the last time you were there?
I would have to say of the ones I have been to, the Universal Studios in California. It been years since I have been, I went with my family when we were traveling there.

3. What is your most and least favourite thing about staying in hotels?
Most favourite thing would be have to be the room service, the ability to plop on a bed eat some good food and just mess about in the room knowing that you don't have to clean up after yourself. I can be a lazy messy good for nothing slob at times ;) Second favourite thing is using the Jacuzzi, even more so if it is in the room! Least favourite thing; if you do it enough travelling and staying in hotels begins to lose its appeal rather quickly, and the smell of a hotel becomes one that you dread.

4. Did you ever take family vacations that required looooooong car rides? Were siblings involved ("Stop touching me! Don't cross this line!)? Were the trips just unbearable or did you make up some "car ride games" to pass the time?
I spent most of my childhood in the back seat of my mom's cars. She would take a couple of months off at a time and we would travel through parts of Africa. Luckily no siblings were involved at the time, I believe that the fight for space over the many miles would have driven my mother insane had there been any. The trips were never unbearable, some of my fondest childhood memories come from spending time in the back seat playing games, scribbling, colouring, reading books, and watching the road and scenery unfold about us.

5. With all the drilled peep-holes and spy-cams we hear about on the news, have you ever felt self-conscious about taking off your clothes in a hotel bathroom? Has wondering if someone was on the other side of that mirror on the wall above the dresser made you think twice about "gettin' busy?"
Until you mentioned it I have never really thought about it, but now [shudder] I don't think I would feel as comfortable "getting busy" and flossing me teeth again. You have to wonder though why anyone would really want to go through the trouble of spying on people at a hotel. It's is rather sad if you think about it.

6. Describe the most romantic vacation you have ever taken or if that does not apply ;) (tell me about the worst vacation you have ever taken.)
I haven't had any truly bad vacations, as for the most romantic one, well that is yet to come [saucy smile] Soon I hope.

7. (continued) After a full tummy and four days of sleep, I'd say I've never felt better. Since it is nearly noon, how about you come over and we'll hang out on the deck. I have a pool, hot tub and lotsa eats and drink. But feel free to bring whatever else you think we need! How should we spend this fine afternoon at the pool?
Sitting in the sun, relaxing, drinking strawberry daiquiris [yes it's a girlie girl drink but they are so yummy] and just generally enjoying the warm weather. Perhaps later we can through something on the BBQ.

BONUS: Have you got it, do you get it, if so, how often?
I got it, oh yes I do, I stole it from the toyshop oh yes I did.

Stumped again, I really have no idea where Promo keeps finding these.

Sucked In

Taking the rest of this day off from my usual habits to get sucked into a book. Hugin picked up Enders Game this weekend from one of our favorite local second hand book store. Started reading it on the way home Sunday, as he guided me down the streets my nose 'briefly' stuck in the book. Hugin put it down when we got home and I found it this afternoon under the computer desk. My nose has been stuck in it since. It has been a long time since a book has managed to capture my attention and draw me in. Recently the books that I have picked up and tried to read have only managed to hold my attention sporadically. Short little moments of captivation that last until the worries, the daily distractions and the web distract my mind, drawing me away from the book grasped in my fingers. This book, however, seems to be different; I have completely been drawn into the story, racing through the book trying to figure out where it is going, what will happen, what the next twist or turn in the plot will be and how the book will end. It feels good to be drawn in such. It feels good to plop down on the couch and read till your eyes fight for focus as your mind hungers for the next line, the next part of the tale.

From the Past

Oh my! I used to play a game called Shmoo (or something like that) which simply involved lobbing mud splats in a text environment at a Shmoo who was doing the same to you. Direction, force, etc. Home in and fire. It was fun.

Then came Scorched Earth. A great great game. That had storms of multiplayer fun written all over it. Different munitions, wind, variable options for the sides of the screen, it had it all.

Now it seems there is the next step in having it all: Moonbase Commander.

I wonder if it will be my friend...

Posted by hugin at 03:18 PM | Comments (0)

My computer made funny noises at me

Well that's not quite it, Word seems to have activated the help and now I have a little paper clip zipping about the screen. [waves to paper clip] 'Hello little paper clip, who is now scratching it's head. Some days you are useful and point out my errors, other days you help me figure out what I have done wrong and help me unravel the mysteries of Microsoft office. Most days you are just an annoying pest, zooming about on your self made bicycle, distracting me from my thoughts, correcting errors even though I have not requested that you do so, and just making a general nuisance of yourself.' ' I think I shall get rid of you. Maybe one day I will require your services once again but for now..' [boots icon off screen] 'Adios you little nudnick!'

Double, double toil and trouble;

Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and cauldron bubble[macbeth]
I should never be trusted to boil water/coffee, well pretty much anything liquid, on a stove. Thrice in two days have I tried, and thrice have I completely forgotten about the pot left on the stove. [wry shaking of head] You would figure that with the adventures we've already had with the fire alarm that I would pay attention to foodstuff left on the stove, but nay this would seem to be the case. I require a device, some sort of buzzer that will violently beep when the pot is a boil. Maybe that would shock me out of dreamland and remind me that there is indeed a pot on the stove, merrily bubbling away, simmering down my coffee into a sludge like substance.

Little pearls of wisdom and some luck

Best of luck to the Awe-C-Lad who is in the midst of his second year vet finals. Just remember dear lad that though it may look like a rabbit it could indeed be a cat with long floppy ears and a bushy tail. Also remember that though it may feel right at the time, holding your breath in dreaded anticipation of the upcoming exam will indeed make you feel all light and happily woozy but will not help your brain acquire copious amounts of much needed oxygen which in turn will only lead to hyperventilation. Well these be my pearls of unsolicited wisdom, now go give the boy some loving and well wishes.

*Disclaimer - please note that a part of the above was written on little sleep and no caffeine.

MozBlog
Well, it would seem that I can now post using the built in add-on to Mozilla...
all that mindless energy previously wasted having to find, click and enter
silly password information over and over again when I had a thought - gone!
POOF! Now I just need to open the little writing area, and away she blogs!

Munin will be happy with this... envious, but happy.Just need to find out
why it won't publicize...

Not Perfect

Well, it isn't perfect yet. But I am temporarily content and more to the point, posting about 1000x more frequently than normal. So that might be something worth blogging about.

Hmm

Giving Mozilla a try now that it is 1.0
Noticing a few odd things, but don't have much time to play around and see what is causing them... Have to get that java stuff, maybe that will make the difference.

As can be seen from the usage of the word `stuff', I get very `technical' when I am busy...

Circus Freak

I am giving it all up running away to go and join the circus! I want to tumble and laugh. I want to squeeze in to little cars, fly high on the trapeze and bounce on the trampoline. I want to make people smile, giggle and roll on the floor as they howl with glee. Anyone want to join me?

Personality = Crazy

Alright, now I'm just going personality test crazy... Hmm, odd none of these say I am obsessive...

a) MASTERMIND
(Submissive Introvert Abstract Thinker )

b) I took a color test here... didn't much care for it. So I won't bother with the results.

c) Another longer Jung test said I am INTJ... I can handle some of that.

I'm me, that's all there is to it.

Bloganality

This is a test that I just couldn't resist, spotted over on Robyn's site: It would seem that my Bloginality is INFP!!!

According to the site;
This is defined as a NF personality, which is part of Carl Jung's Idealist (Identity Seeking) type, and more specifically the Healers or Idealist. As a weblogger, you have wonderful words to express your feelings because of your idealism. Because you don't like conflict, you may be likely to make one list of links and leave it for a long time without updating for fear of offending.

I am not too sure about the wonderful words, as I usually seem to flounder when it comes to expressing my feelings, but the rest is pretty darnn close.

[[Hugin - You idealist you! :)

Not Moi

For me I think I shall have the:
As an INTP, you are Introverted, iNtuitive, Thinking, Perceiving.
This makes your primary focus on Introverted Thinking with an Extraverted Intution.
This is defined as a NT personality, which is part of Carl Jung's Rational (Knowledge Seeking) type, and more specifically the Architect or Thinker.
As a weblogger, you might not be as concerned about popularity, but more with the ideas and theories that you strive to understand. Because routines aren't your strong point, you might be more likely to work on the concept of how to do a blog, but not be as excited to keep it up.

No applause needed ;)]]

Hugin Addendum

Great, now I'm analyzing myself!
Someone pull me up a couch please?

A Classic

One of my favourite older movies is 12 Angry Men. Sure, I love a lot of Hepburn (Philadelphia Story), Bogart (Casablanca), Stewart (Harvey), Grant (To Catch a Thief) movies, but another movie I remember only a little bit, but enjoyed was the Hustler. I didn't realize it was an acclaimed movie with Oscar nominations and wins... but I really enjoyed watching it, so much that I made a point of watching the Colour of Money. You may notice that there is no hyperlink to that film, because I didn't like it.

Anyways, felt I had to mention the movie since it just came out on DVD.

Now if only they came out with a wicked Snooker movie! They could put a snooker table in a cage and then...

Embarrassing Lyrics.

Due to the pending lockdown on gigabyte transfers I have been downloading music like crazy. Almost any type of music will do; jazzy type tunes, lazy blues crooned by old favorites, sentimental love songs, fast and furious metal/techno, classical pieces and some good old rock and roll. And then there are the songs that I would rather admit to not downloading, songs off albums that are usually hidden on the lowest rack of a CD shelf. [Yes, I own most of this stuff on CD, just to lazy to transfer it over to the 'puter] Songs from my teenage years when spandex pants, oversized sweaters and big hair were popular. That's right I've been downloading 80's music. Everything from 'Come on Eileen' to Gowan [hangs head in shame] and the worst of it is I am singing along. GAH! Who would of thought that the 80's would have left such an impact? My only saving grace is that I have not succumbed to downloading Milli Vanilli, but 'Ice, ice baby' that I have. [Eeep!]

The joys of soy only go so far

Had an unusual craving for cookies and milk. Crumbly chocolate chip cookies tantalizingly dipped in a tall glass of cold milk and devoured with gusto, my Saturday morning childhood staple. Found the cookies with ease, opened the fridge with one cookie already devoured, reached for another as I searched for the milk. Ransacked the fridge only to discover the empty milk jug sitting by it's lonesome in the recycling pile.[humph] My craving had been thwarted by an over zealous milk guzzler. [It was a relatively new jug] I was about to go on a full-fledged pouting spree when flitting about in the corner of my eye I did see, a full container of soymilk. That would suffice, wouldn't it? So I grabbed a large glass poured in the soymilk only to discover that soymilk and cookies just do not mix! [blarghy] I guess I'll have to move on to the next craving, now where did I hide the salsa bottle?

This or That

1. Laptop or desktop computer? We both have desktops, though it would be nice to also get a laptop one day.
2. PC or Mac? PC, though I do love MACs!
3. DVD or VHS? DVDs, much prefer DVDs though we still have a rather large VHS collection.
4. Cell phone or regular phone? Both. Somehow I got suckered into getting a cell phone.
5. Satellite or cable TV? Currently cable, though perhaps one day we'll get satellite.
6. X-Box or PlayStation? Playstation.
7. Netflix or video store? I wish we could get something like Netflix, it would save me a bundle in late fees. Use to be the video store, but considering the late fees it is cheaper for me to buy DVDs.
8. Wide-screen or regular TV? Both, though I much prefer widescreen.
9. Film or digital camera? I love old mechanical cameras, ones that do not have a digital bone in them, but have also fallen in love with our flatmates digital camera, it goes almost everywhere with me.
10. Dial-up or high-speed internet connection? High speed all the way, do not have patience for dial up.

Elevators, Squirrels and McNuggets.

The first dream to exert itself into conscious thought this morning took place on an elevator in a hotel that is well known to me. Hugin and I were staying there for while and I was heading down to the lobby to check on something with the doorman. The trip down passed with no problems; I saw the doorman and he gave me the information I desired though I have no recollection as to what it was. On the way to the elevator Hugin asked me if I would be ok going up alone, this was odd since he did not take the trip down with me, I told him everything would be fine. I stepped into the elevator and pressed the button of our floor, this is where everything went to hell. A loud whining noise filled the air as the elevator shot upwards surpassing our floor; I tried to control it and fought to hit the help button. A man voice came over the intercom but he could not hear me over the din, I screamed in terror but still no replies. Suddenly the elevator began to plummet as I struggled to control its drop, the floor lights flashed non-sequentially by my eyes and awoke as the elevator hit the ground floor. The next dream was about a squirrel that we had adopted, it was curled up on our bed next to our cat as we discussed the diaper it was wearing. At one point I noticed it feet, fluffy tufts sticking out between soft pads and beige grit stuck to its paws, it would seem that he no longer needed the diaper as he was using the cat litter box. That dream abruptly shifted and I was no longer examining the squirrel's feet but a chicken McNugget, trying to determine how it was made.
Very odd dreams this morning, very odd indeed I wonder what it all means.

Monday Mission.
Thought I'd forgotten about you little mission. Thought I left you for another. But no that ain't it my brain has been on hiatus, a leave of absence if you please, and took creativity and thought with it.

1. Who or where do you go to when you need help for web-related problems?
There are a few wonderful people who have allowed me to pick their brains when it comes to making my way around the web. Candi and Robyn, and Steve are a few of those amazing people [I feel as if I am forgetting someone, please forgive me if I have] who have patiently listened to me, given their time and have helped me get through some interesting faux pas that I have committed. There has also been the MT support forum.
2. There is a big mess of gossip going on in some Blogs out there due to revelations about a very popular Blogger. I got very caught up in reading all the links to links about it until I stopped myself realizing it was none of my buisiness. Do you ever get caught up in gossip, either speading it or listening to it? How does it make you feel? Or have you ever been the subject of gossip?
Having been on the receiving end of gossip, I know how hurtful and unfounded it can be. I generally ignore gossip, and if confronted with it will try and found out what all sides of the story are.
3. In a relationship, when your other takes a dig at you (read: a fight), do you go for the jugular and get "in their face" or try to peacefully smooth things out and have a calm discussion?
We generally tease each other a lot, that is too say Hugin teases and I get teased in most cases [impish smile] but we haven't had many go for the jugular type of fights. Generally if one of us is upset at the other we will talk it out, which will lead to fits of laughter as Hugin and I share a lot of the same mannerism. It is quiet odd to see your significant other go through the same facial expression and hand motions that are usual yours. The occasional grumpball and/or angerball will also get thrown in for good measure. 'My look who is being such a grumpball' It is really hard to stay miffed when someone is calling you a grumpball.
4. Ever get jealous of the popularity other Blogs?
No. I think it's great that others get attention for their Blogs. There are some amazing and talented people out there.
5. What is your favorite dirty word? (those who don't curse can pick your favorite happy word)
Can't really say that I have one favorite cuss word, it all depends on the situation. Feck and bugger seem to be used the most.
6.(the continuing story...) OK, we are definitely doing that again. But seeing as it is nearly 6am now, how about breakfast? Anywhere you'd like to go or should we fix our own? What do you like? Or is there something else we need to do first?
If you are up to it, I can fix us some crepes with fresh fruit and freshly whipped cream. I have to warn you though it has been said that I swear like a sailor when making crepes, something about burning fingers on a hot pan doesn't seem to agree with me. So if you feel like you can handle it how about we head home, we'll pick up some supplies on the way and when we get there you can go have a refreshing shower will I brew us some coffee. Then you can help me slice some fruit and I'll whip us up a batch of crepes.

BONUS: What have I done to deserve this?
Nothing and Everything.

Monday?

When did this happen? How did this morning come to be? Isn't it supposed to be Sunday? What happened to the weekend? You're kidding me right, it's not Monday!?! I refuse to believe that it is already Monday. [folds arms and pouts] Humph! Monday morning, BAH! I am going back to bed [stomps off towards bedroom]
