Taking the rest of this day off from my usual habits to get sucked into a book. Hugin picked up Enders Game this weekend from one of our favorite local second hand book store. Started reading it on the way home Sunday, as he guided me down the streets my nose 'briefly' stuck in the book. Hugin put it down when we got home and I found it this afternoon under the computer desk. My nose has been stuck in it since. It has been a long time since a book has managed to capture my attention and draw me in. Recently the books that I have picked up and tried to read have only managed to hold my attention sporadically. Short little moments of captivation that last until the worries, the daily distractions and the web distract my mind, drawing me away from the book grasped in my fingers. This book, however, seems to be different; I have completely been drawn into the story, racing through the book trying to figure out where it is going, what will happen, what the next twist or turn in the plot will be and how the book will end. It feels good to be drawn in such. It feels good to plop down on the couch and read till your eyes fight for focus as your mind hungers for the next line, the next part of the tale.
