Livebearing fish should be taught about responsibility and parenthood. Sure I suppose there is something to be said for having your baby fish and eating them too, but... 4 more baby fish! The adults are having fun and then eating the evidence, I saw one chasing a teeny little baby around - my first thought was that it was chasing food, but then I reconsidered when the food deked...
So, proper sex education for livebearing fish and proper parenthood techniques that don't involve eating offspring. That's the plan. Evidently it is a little slow in catching on with the fish themselves.
Or maybe they are in cahoots with Munin in wanting another larger fish tank. Hmm... better see if Munin has been slipping Viagra into the fish food!
Posted by hugin at April 21, 2002 09:58 PMthis comment stems back, i just found this site ..anyways its 2003 now.and the live bearers i have seem to let the percentage of their babies live..now i added natural plants that float to keep the baby fry busy up top, just hangin around ratehr then swimming around the tank teasing the bigger fish hey here is some nutritous meat..so u keep your other fish fed ..especially when you notice your fish pregnant..now you net the babies and bada bing you can transfer them wherever you want..and watch them grow..now often buy other of the same fish so u get variety and healthy fish...bada bing your cycle will keep on goin unless your house gets nailed by a Sunami..good luck..
