Tangential thoughts.

It's absolutely gorgeous outside, the weather is warm and sunny, the trees are budding, the grass is slowly regaining its vigor and there is this wonderful breeze that wafts past our porch. And what am I doing you may ask on this wonderful springy summery day? Well I am sitting indoors surfing the web, flipping through TV channels, playing with a new site design and trying to solve a puzzle ring that I picked up today! It's quite pretty, silver, four loops, with an elephant design that sits upon the knots.

I had been searching high and low for one for some time now, and this one appealed to me because it is not gaudy nor big but rather small and delicate. The elephant was the clincher though. There are some that say that the elephant is soul of the continent; it is the memory of Africa. This touches a soft spot in me for Africa is the place where I spent my childhood, and it is place that has had much influence on the person that I have become. It is one of the reasons, aside from my mom who schlepped me all over the place in a tent, that I have a great appreciation and respect for nature, for the wildness that inhabits this land. That touches your soul and makes you one of her own.

Well that was a tangential thought that came out of no where, perhaps it is time that I take my little arse out of this room, grab the puzzle ring, a book and go sit on the porch.
