The Friday Five all this

The Friday Five
all this talk of food has made my tummy all rumbly

1.What is your favorite restaurant and why?
I don't have a one particular restaurant that I enjoy eating at, I like to diversify and hence choosing one is a problem. Currently my favorites include a little place known as Schwartz's for their Smoke meat, this incredible Korean/Japanese restaurant in the old city for it's wonderful sushi and their yummy Katsudan dish, a pub near our place for their amazing Capone wings, another restaurant close to us for their yummy Lebanese food and a hotel downtown for their delish Sunday brunch.

2. What fast food restaurant are you partial to?
None really, I am not a big fast food eater, though I will occasionally get a craving for McDonalds McNuggets, it must be something in the sauce. [Oh, how I crave their hot mustard sauce, good for dunking fries as well]

3. What are your standards and rules for tipping?
I will usually leave between 15 to 20% of the bill before taxes as a tip. Though this will also be dependant in the service. If you are rude and arrogant and lack courtesy don't expect me to tip you well for bad service. If you are particularly obnoxious I will however leave you a penny and nothing more. I tend to tip cabbie drivers about between 2-3 dollars and when in bars will tip the waiters/waitresses according to number of drinks ordered, service etc.

4. Do you usually order an appetizer and/or dessert?
As I am not the biggest of eaters, I will finish half of what ever is served to me, I tend not to order appetizers unless I plan on eating them as a main course. [If I could get my way I would prefer to order from the kids menu, I'd at least be guaranteed to finish my meal ;) ] Dessert is an entirely different issue; I love desserts especially when it comes to cheesecakes, chocolate cakes and deep fried ice cream. I will usually leave space for dessert when eating out.

5. What do you usually order to drink at a restaurant?
I usually order a coke or ginger ale. If I am feeling a little adventurous and at a restaurant I'll order a class of wine, and if at a pub/bar I'll order a pint of cider, or an amaretto sour or a half dram of scotch. [Yup I'm a girly girl when it comes to drinks, I have never been able to enjoy the taste of beer, unless of course you are kind enough to mix it up with ginger ale with me - sacrilegious I know.]
