Heather's Friday Five

1. What was your first job? Aside from babysitting, which started when I was 12, I got my real first job when I was 16 and working as a lifeguard and swimming instructor at our local YMCA. The teaching was fun, the life guarding more stressful as we had a lot of elderly patrons who enjoyed diving into the pool at the deep end and not resurfacing for several moments. We would all be lined up at the side of the pool, hoping against hope that we would not have to dive into the pool and rescue them from the onset of a heart attack. [which is a very grim thought when you're sixteen!]

2. How old were you when you had your first kiss? First peck I believe I was 5, when I was in nursery school. Was very smitten by the boy, according to my mom and went so far as to have a mock wedding. First real kiss when I was 18 away at summer camp. We both had braces.

3. What was your first car? What happened to it? The first car I drove was my mom's old Datsun-Nissan 310. Fun car to drive, as it was small, had some oomph and could fit neatly into the tiniest of parking spots. Aside from that never owned my own car, as the public transportation in this neck of the world is rather good. Perhaps one day I will purchase one, though I would much prefer a Cessna. Do you know you can pick up a pretty decent secondhand plane for only 15 grand, which is cheaper, then some cars.

4. What was your first concert? Rush, "Roll the Bones" concert with my first serious boyfriend.[Which is funny considering I am not a Rush fan]

5. How do you plan to spend your weekend? Much of the same as this week, organize study, do laundry, clean up house. Maybe go see a movie this weekend, perhaps a little cross-country skiing and lots of snuggling!
