Ranting: A Snot-Nosed...

A person came to fix our oven today after 2 months of it being out of commission. Our landlord took his time in calling the person, basically ignoring the request for the first month. The man showed up at 8 o'clock and took 10 minutes to fix the stove, and voila all done only thing left to do was notify the landlord that oven was fixed and ask him if he could kindly please come upstairs so he could pay the man. Do you know what our dear landlord replied. Oh you are going to love this. He said that he was not ready to come upstairs as the man had only notified him that he would be in at 9:00 and could we please tell the man to come back then. Can you believe it? Of all the gaul, it takes real chutzpah or complete idiocy to respond with something like that. The repairman was at a complete loss. His first response was, "who does this man think he is?" He then went on to tell me that our landlord had only called him last night and that when he told him that he was incapable of coming in this morning as his father had just passed way, our landlord proceeded to tell him off.
Can you believe that, not only did our landlord lie about having called the repairman earlier on in the week but also he threw a fit because the repairman asked him for a more appropriate notification. When all was said and done our landlord came back upstairs and proceeded to lecture me on how I should use the oven. "Make sure nothing overflows, don't use foil..." Excuse me? The only things I use the oven for are baking and lasagna, neither of which overflow. Aside isn't it the responsibility of the landlord to repair things that he rents out?
