News of Yesterday

I feel like an amateur newscaster, describing the events that happened. Of course in my sleep-residue non-coffee currently imbibed state, I seem to think that they can predict the future. Odd.

Anyways, thought I'd mention the wonders of Montreal weather again.

Sunday, sunny day - approx 18-22C. Nice, but brought an umbrella and a light jacket just in case.

It started to rain. So far so good, that's to be expected on that day.
Then the rain started to really come down; the sound of it striking the awning was very, hard.
That's when we noticed, it was hailing - in August.
Crazy.

That explains what we saw when we were driving back to Quebec from Ontario on Sunday:

The sky was a patchwork of blue & white above our heads, and it seemed as if every possible type of cloud formation had sent a representative. Way over yonder, out over the city, was a jumbled mish-mash of grey clouds whose edges were all crisply lit by the sun; all, that is, except for this one area which was a floor-to-ceiling mass of grey haze.

We figured it was rain; never occured to us it might be *hail*. Eeeeyoikes...
