We watched the Two Towers extended version yesterday, with one intermission.
It was good.
I'm still not happy with a few of the changes from the books. But... c'est la vie.
I did enjoy the added and extended scenes, they did a lot for the movie once again, made it much fuller. Also they provided a better sense of what is remaining true to the books (for those who have read them) and a better sense of the underlying story (for those who haven't read them).
For example, the flashback to Boromir and Faramir and the taking of Osgiliath.

i'm sure i'm not the first to mention this coincidence, but... found this {thanks to NG}; then I flipped back to your site and the first thing I saw was this post... and now I have this weird surreal dreamscape melding of the two narratives going on in my head...
...wonder what Jung would make of the two-tower imagery...
