Hangnails and 5 year olds.

Hugin has a hangnail on his index finger, and part of the skin attached has been pulled so that it is now flopping about and causing pain. The past five minutes have been spent trying to convince him that he’d be better of trimming the skin. The conversation has gone something like this:
Munin: Let me trim that it will hurt less.
Hugin: Nope. [hides hand behind back]
M: Come on, it will be better. Gimme your finger so I can trim the skin
H: Nope! [curls fingers into a tight ball behind back]
M: Come on it will be better afterwards
H: Nope!
M: [reaching for hand] Gimme!
H: Nope [dances away, flashes other fingers]
M: gimme! gimme! gimme!
H: No!
Rinse lather repeat above for about five minutes.

He is now walking around with his finger firmly planted in his mouth.

Hugin: Owie. I think I’ll go trim this.
[insert loud yelp]
