Why is it that otherwise intelligent people, when encountering a computer or new software instantly become bumbling fools? Why is it that they will lose the common sense that they were born with, stare blankly at a screen and wonder what they should be doing next? It’s baffling and I have never been able to make sense of this little bit of human idiosyncrasy. Mind you I have been guilty of the same quirkiness, especially when following someone else’s direction on how to install new software. My brains shuts down and goes into auto pilot, awaiting commands, hanging onto the every syllable of the person who is instructing me, getting lost when they leave me to my own devices.
A friend from work mailed this link to me, it's a collection of all the things that otherwise clever people do when confronted with a computer.
Isn't that site great? I love that place. When all the non-techie people start crowding in and stressing me out, I go there to be amongst my own. ;)
