Strive

Well, my comment of a few seconds ago brought to mind another thing and that another and another and so on and so forth and so so so.

So, I thought I'd post some more. [Listening to music from the movie Henry V - Branagh's version]

Speaking of striving, reminded me of my ping-pong playing. Something I started doing at work several months back and have been working at ever since. I've changed my style recently to fit more with the way I play against the best player of us all. I played more aggressively against him than anyone else. Knowing you can't win allows you to throw caution to the wind and to just punch crazily into the wind, on the off chance that something will get by.

It was mentioned to me that I didn't play other people like that, and considering this I thought, `why not?' Why shouldn't I? And so all my games since then are the `damn the torpedoes' variety.

Aside from resulting in an improvement to my game (not a consistent one to be sure as I still need control) this has also resulted in my being pooped!

It takes a lot of energy to hammer a ping-pong ball past someone whose defenses are pretty good. And to do it again and again and again for a single point... whew! Satisfying, but exhausting.

Still... strive, push, and follow through.

I should do that with more things in life.

Not necessarily with aggressiveness, but with intensity, with energy and to follow through.

I'll start with being with Munin.
And follow through.
