It would seem that I was wrong in my prediction of the next 48 hours:
Edit, coffee, edit, meeting, coffee, cup of joe, coffee, edit revise edit… ' Word has generated an error. Please say goodbye to document. Thank you and have a nice day'. Gasp. Complete and utter disbelief. ‘Word just ate my document.’ Eight hours of editing, revising and general hair pulling go bye- bye. Strangled Gasp. Bursts into tears.
All not lost though, yesterdays backup was found. Thank the lords.
no tears, munin! tomorrow is a new day. :)
Posted by: nikki g. on Marzo 19, 2003 08:38 PMugh.. is it a new day yet? Sitting here looking at the manual, on a day off no less, trying to figure out where to start. Coffee. I think I'll start with that.
*squish*
thanks Nikki, for always being there.
*mwah*
Oh my goodness! It LOST your document?! That scares the bejeezus out of me... It's only happened to me once about 8 years ago, and I'm still panicky about it. I'm SO glad that you retrieved it!
Posted by: Susan on Marzo 21, 2003 01:31 AMI need my darling here to show me how to run backups on my computer. I'm stupid about this stuff.
Posted by: Da Goddess on Marzo 21, 2003 01:45 AMSue, me too. Luckily our office makes daily back ups, and I had been forwarding the document home. Just in case I wanted to work on it at night. Much happier to have lost one days worth of work then 3 weeks.
Goddess, I still have to figure out how to do that properly. Must ask Hugin.
