Well that went without a hitch till I did something silly! I ran mt-upgrade26 and then somehow freaked out thinking that I had run the wrong upgrade. I then tried running upgrade25 which of course creates an error! Rereading the instructions I realized that initially I did indeed run the script. I also realiaze that I am a silly git. So I freak out again and try rerunning upgrade26, which of course gives me another error. This post is essentially a test to see if I have screwed everything up, or if MT is forgiving enough and will account for my doof like behaviour.
Must remember to drink more coffee before attempting this again.
Well it seems that the only problem is that I am timing out on my pings. I am not sure if this is due to me futzing everything up, or just a normal time out. Anyone got suggestion?
Posted by munin at Febrero 21, 2003 01:51 PMDo you know Patricia at Lunanina.com? She was grappling with the same problems after upgrading as you are, the time-out pingy thingy.
It's beyond my meager brain capacity, but if you know her you might want to inquire there.
Posted by: stacey on Febrero 21, 2003 02:40 PMYes, more coffee. That way when it fails next time, you are far jumpier, wired and tense...
May I suggest tea?
Posted by: Hugin on Febrero 21, 2003 02:48 PMThanks Stacey :o)
Tea, humph!
umm... hides mug. There's no tea in here ;o)
i haven't upgraded to 2.6 yet but just wanted to say hi. oh, and more coffee please.
Posted by: bobby g. on Febrero 21, 2003 03:51 PMHey Bobby, upgrading a snap if you don't do what I did ;o)
*hands of a cup of coffee*
I left a comment on my page but I'll post here as well... not sure if it was MT that was causing my problems or my slow dial up (it gets pretty bad in bad weather)...anyway..since I upgraded to 2.62 I haven't had any problems pinging weblogs. But you know what? Even when I was getting timing out error messages the pings were going through because i was still getting click throughs from weblogs. weird stuff.
Posted by: patricia on Febrero 21, 2003 05:08 PMThere was something on the forums about the ping timeout messages. You can edit your "PingTimeout" in the mt.cfg file. The recommended time is 30. If it has a "#" at the beginning of the line, remove that too. Then rebuild your site. It seems to cut down on the timing out errors.
