Mozart will be turning in his grave this week when a Viennese orchestra descends on London to make a meal out of playing the carrot. The First Vienna Vegetable Orchestra says it will cook up a storm with its carrot flutes, leek violins, celery bongos and aubergine cymbals. - Reuters
So how does on play a vegetable, exactly? I mean do you play them like a drum, tapping out a beat on their skins? Or can you whittle them through and play them like a flute? Maybe you string them up, harp like, and use a carrot as your bow? I really am curious to see how one goes about playing a legume.
Posted by munin at Febrero 24, 2003 10:25 AMOkay, first of all, why couldn't I get a gurkophone to play in grade school?? That would've been too cool.
But secondly, how disgusting is this?
"Once the instruments are worn out, the musicians, and a conductor who doubles as cook, toss each one into a stewpot to make soup -- to be enjoyed by the audience after the concert."
I wouldn't want to EAT something that had been vigorously touched by someone for an hour. EW!
