The vice tightens as the lights flash. My head beats out its own rhythm as the imps that inhabit it pound their drums. My tummy spins out of control, a train derailed and set loose in space. Our bedroom is flooded with sunshine, dancing spotlights that flit about the floor. The dark cool womb of our office offers the only respite. Going back to crashing on the couch now as I can't think of anything else that can help.
Though some do recommend a good snuggle. Oh love fancy a ....

Posted by: GeekGrrl on Enero 27, 2003 04:33 PMOk don't laugh. I banana peel placed on your forehead right between your eyes with the inside skin on your skin. I swear.. Try it sometime and let me know. It usually takes about 15 min to work for me.

Posted by: munin on Enero 28, 2003 09:24 AMI suffered from migraines for years, trying everything (naproxyn, ibuprofin, barbituates). Finally, my doctor advised me that the arthritis medicine Celebrex (American trade name) has proved to be effective in migraine studies. I tried it, and it actually worked.
Then I switched to a less stressful job and was able to drop the Celebrex.
Hope you find a cure, migraines are hell.
Posted by: stacey on Enero 28, 2003 09:55 AMStacey, my doctor prescribed something a while back, which I still have to pick up. [The price on it was just a wee bit expensive and at the time I was a penniless student.] Th medication he prescribed, doesn't so much help end a migraine that is already in the throws of much misery making, as stop one that is about to commence in its tracks. The trick being knowing what the signs are.
I use to get them frequently in my early twenties, but I have been lucky enough not to have, had many migraines in the past few years. [This would be the first one in 3 years.] I am hoping that they don't come back for a long while.
thanks so much for the info
